Cambridge Tech Podcast, Show Notes 18: TechNation Rising Stars get into the minds of start-up judges

Monday saw the East of England regional final of TechNation’s Rising Stars Scale-Up Program at The Bradfield Centre in Cambridge.

Faye and James were both on the judging panel, alongside Tim Robinson of TechEast, Emmi Nicholl of Cambridge Angels, and Neil Griffin of Essex Innovation Centre.

We kick things off by chatting with TechNation’s Anna Nadolna The Scale Up Manager for the East of England to learn more about the competition.

As there are a lot of competitions happening at the moment, we thought we would change things up for this episode by talking to the judges rather than the finalists.

Why?

By listening to this episode you’ll gain valuable insight into how competition judges think. Why they get involved, how they prepare, their pet peeves and other invaluable insights. Gold for anyone about to enter a start-up competition, raising a funding round, or if you are just curious about how it all works.

16 East of England companies pitched, you can find links to them all below. You can also read more about the final in this Cambridge Independent story.

Faye and I pass on our best wishes to them all, and we look forward to tracking the progress of the East of England regional winners at the national stages of the competition.
