Cambridge Tech Podcast, Show Notes 9: PostDocs shine at University of Cambridge competition

The CamTechPod tour continues this week as we are off to the Chris Abell Postdoc Business Plan Competition.

The competition finds PostDocs with an idea, and networks and mentors them to prepare a business plan with the best possible chance for commercialisation. Here we introduce the six finalists, hear them pitch and share the winners. Would you pick the same three, and will any of these six follow in the footsteps of previous winners such Porotech (episode 6), Cambridge GaN Devices Ltd, PharmEnable, Xampla, Nu Quantum , Shaping Horizons

Thanks to Cambridge Enterprise and EPOC for the invitation, with prizes provided by Cambridge Enterprise, Cambridge Innovation Capital and Oxbridge Angels | Oxbridge Ventures.

The six finalists were:

Samuel M. with Autohaem (Third Prize)

Richard Bethlehem with BrainChart

Junxin Wang with JW Glass

Borong Hu with PowerSense (Second Prize)

Jan Stochl with Cambridge Adaptive Testing

Benjamin Droguet with Sparxell (First Prize)

Some great shoutouts also for those in the ecosystem including Shailendra Vyakarnam and Ludo Chapman, as well as entrepreneurial programmes such as the impulse, Maxwell Centre programme. And we had a great time catching up with people including Desmond Cheung and Alexandra Huener.
